We are looking for an energetic and motivated team leader for our Intensive Support Services for our youth and young adults in Wellington. You will lead a team in supporting our youth to live as independently as possible whilst also providing a safe environment where they can develop confidence, build friendships, and interact within the community. We are seeking three team leaders for our Kapiti Service, Lower Hutt Service and Newtown.
There will be a mixture of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts spanning across the week, so having the flexibility to support your team across a variety of shifts is a key part of this role.
What does the role involve? - He aha te mahi a te mahi
A Team Leader assists people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, as well as leading and motivating their team.
Your day will involve a range of responsibilities and could include the following:
Activities at home and in the community that are meaningful and purposeful to the people, including maximizing independence and involving Whanau
Household duties including meal preparation, daily care routines, and personal cares
Working together with a team to implement personal support plans consistently, with effective and positive teamwork and communication
Providing people with a warm and nurturing environment to live in, which is inclusive of ideas and feedback so that each person is supported towards their personal goals

You will be somebody who really thrives off helping others and who is committed to upholding high standards of care. Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
Relevant caregiving experience, ideally with youth and young adults including personal cares
Ideally leadership experience, or a genuine desire to develop your leadership expertise
Ability to tailor your leadership approach to meet individual learning styles
A warm, calm, and friendly personality with a passion for supporting people to achieve positive outcomes for themselves
A full NZ driver's licence and ability to transport passengers confidently and safely in our disability vans
