Your responsibilities will include:
Performance Testing:
Design, build, and maintain Vista’s performance testing platform, including processes, tools, and scripting framework
Work alongside Development teams to design and implement load tests appropriate for purpose across the various Vista products
Manage Vista’s performance testing environments, both on-premise and SaaS
Execute and analyze test results, reporting findings back to key stakeholders as required
Provide Training and guidance to development teams to help take ownership of their own performance testing assets and testing functions
Ensure Quality of Vista releases through assessing performance risks of planned work and reviews of load test results
Represent Performance Engineering as a SME in development teams
Performance Troubleshooting:
Provide performance troubleshooting and issue resolution services to both Services and Engineering teams as required, including customer engagement as necessary
Provide pro-active performance appraisal and best practice guidance for both customer and Vista managed implementations of our software products
Services Consulting:
Advise the Services Teams on the creation and use of tools and technology used to diagnose customer system and database issues
Consult with the Knowledge Services team (as appropriate) to create required documentation
Requirements
We’re looking for:
Relevant tertiary qualification (computer science, applied maths/statistics or similar) or equivalent experience
Experience with troubleshooting complex technical issues
Knowledge of Load Testing techniques
Knowledge of performance testing and monitoring tools such as JMeter, Prometheus, Datadog etc...
Knowledge and experience across multiple architectural areas, including client and server applications, databases, network technologies and cloud
Ability to understand and process complex data sets, interpret metrics and derive conclusions
Ability to communicate ideas and concepts clearly and concisely to a variety of stakeholders, both verbally and via formal reporting
Enthusiasm for solving problems and figuring out “how things work”
A critical thinker: balancing skepticism and confidence, based on the strength of your evidence
Down to earth, pragmatic approach; ability to balance aspirational goals and direction with real-world constraints and business reality
Experience working in a SaaS company is beneficial
