\n The Opportunity

\n We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our busy workshop. This is a permanent, full-time position with a minimum of 30 hours of work per week.

\n In this role, you will provide technical support across the inspection, testing and analysis of automotive mechanical systems and workshop equipment. You will use diagnostic and measurement equipment to assess mechanical performance, analyse faults and test results, support the development of technical solutions, and assist with the installation, testing and improvement of mechanical components and equipment. You will also contribute to technical documentation, quality control and preventative maintenance activities to support safe, reliable and efficient workshop operations.

\n Key Responsibilities

\n \n Conduct technical inspections, testing and fault analysis of automotive mechanical systems, including drivetrain, transmission, braking, steering, suspension and cooling systems, using diagnostic and measurement equipment.

\n Collect, record and analyse mechanical performance and diagnostic data to identify system faults, component deterioration and recurring failure patterns.

\n Assist with the development and implementation of technical solutions for complex mechanical faults, component modifications and mechanical system improvements.

\n Prepare technical diagrams, specifications, test records and work instructions for mechanical repair, modification and installation work.

\n Select appropriate tools, testing equipment, replacement components and mechanical assemblies according to technical specifications and operational requirements.

\n Assemble, install, test and commission new or modified mechanical assemblies and components, ensuring correct fitment, operation and performance.

\n Perform technical testing following major mechanical repairs or component replacement and verify that completed work meets manufacturer specifications, engineering requirements and applicable safety standards.

\n Analyse component failures and recurring mechanical problems and provide recommendations on repair methods, component selection and preventative maintenance.

\n Assist in evaluating workshop machinery, diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems, and provide technical input into equipment selection, installation, maintenance and improvement.

\n Develop and maintain technical inspection procedures, testing methods and quality-control documentation for mechanical work undertaken by the workshop.

\n Organise and support scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance of workshop machinery and mechanical equipment.

\n Provide technical guidance to automotive technicians on complex mechanical diagnosis, testing procedures, component installation and mechanical system troubleshooting.

\n Maintain detailed technical records of inspections, test results, measurements, mechanical faults, repairs, modifications and equipment maintenance activities

\n \n Requirements

\n \n A relevant Diploma or higher qualification in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related engineering discipline；

\n OR at least 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, automotive mechanical systems, mechanical equipment, or a related technical field.

\n Strong mechanical diagnostic, technical problem-solving and fault-finding skills.

\n Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic equipment, measurement equipment and workshop tools.

\n Good written and verbal communication skills.

\n A collaborative, safety‑conscious, and detail‑oriented approach to work.
