Job Description Working within a team of other Laboratory Technicians, you will take samples delivered by Sample Preparation Assistants and;
Prepare & analyse in accordance with the standard operating procedures in the lab to ensure a high service level is maintained. This involves weighing samples, digesting with various acids and making up volumetric solutions.
Calibrate and use instruments such as Atomic absorbance spectrophotometer, Microwave plasma atomicemmission spectrophotometer,uv/vis spectrophotometer and carbon sulphur analyser to generate sample assay results.
Qualifications Excellent timekeeping and good organisational skills
Ability to keep accurate records
Ability to work with others in a team environment
Tertiary qualification in a science related subject highly advantageous.
Successful NCEA Level 3 science subjects, or equivalent, is a requirement.
Previous experience in a laboratory environment beneficial.
Additional Information $30to $34per hour
Free bus to site, paid breaks, extra shifts at overtime rates
Work on a 12-hour shift basis (rotating days/nights, 50:50 roster).
Successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment medical, drug and criminal history screening.
