Maintenance Technician - Marine

Utilise your trade in the tourism industry! As a maintenance technician you could have a variety of tasks from general handy man duties to monitoring engineering risks.

We're looking for someone trade qualified to carry out maintenance related activities on RealNZ assets. You'll be covering a wide variety of tasks; everything from maintenance work on vessels to supporting engineering research and providing guidance and direction to labourers and apprentices. If you rate yourself as the ultimate handy person that can get stuck into any job you will be fine! There is training provided for a multitude of tasks that are specific to the locations we work in. This is a fixed term, full time position based in Te Anau that will require travel to some of our beautiful locations, Milford Sound, Rakiura and Walter Peak to name a few!

As part of this role you will:

Complete maintenance work in accordance with our SOP's and industry best practice

Report and rectify any identified defects of deficiencies with equipment

Carry out independent engineering research in support of maintenance and project related tasks

Provide guidance and direction to Labourers and Apprentices

Skills & Experience

Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience working with heavy equipment

You'll be conscientious, knowledgeable and able to perform safe and efficient repairs and preventive maintenance, as well as keep excellent records as required

We're looking for someone who is able to lead and mentor a team but is equally self-motivated to work alone with minimum supervision

A NZ driver's licence is a must

Work with a wide variety of assets in a progressive company

Fixed Term, Te Anau based role with regular travel
