The Mental Health and Addiction Service at Hawke’s Bay Hospital have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist . We are looking for applicants interested in a full-time role in Napier . Mental healthservices in Hawke’sBay are centred around two large community teams, with a kaupapa Maori mental health service provided by an NGO partner and satellite teams in the smaller population centres. Within the service Ngā Harakeke mai Rongokako Child, Adolescent and Family Service , Home Based Treatment, Maternal Mental Health, Te Ara Manapou, Consultation-Liaison, Emergency Mental Health teams, Older Persons and Addiction services.

Full-time 1.0 FTE permanent post available in a well-resourced integrated (addictions and mental health)multidisciplinary team

The in-patient unit is on the Regional Hospital campus in Hastings and features high and medium intensity treatment areas as well as an intensive day treatment unit.Local residential addictions treatment service is provided in Napier and an opioid substitution programme is provided in both major population centres.

Mental health services work closely with primary care and NGO providers to create individual care packages for patients and some specialist services such as forensic care are provided on a regional basis.
