Do you want to work on projects where you’re actually trusted and empowered to make meaningful change for some of Australasia’s leading companies?

Dream of working in a place you can call home rather than have to change your career every two years to get ahead?

Want to be part of a team that focuses on getting the job done and having a good time while doing it?

If you answered yes to any of the above...read on!

We’re Sandfield and we build smart software solutions for some of Australasia’s top brands.

We’re working on some pretty cool projects right now and there’s plenty more in our (very long) pipeline...so we are always looking for more up and coming Software Developers to join our awesome team.

About Sandfield

We’re a leading, Kiwi-owned, software business that prides itself on NOT just being a conventional tech company.

We've been backing ourselves, and our ability to create great solutions for clients, since we first opened our doors in 1989. Since then, we’ve developed some pretty innovative systems for clients which leave other, more high-profile, software packages in the dust.

Our work facilitates high-performance supply chains for the likes of Mainfreight, Qube and Allied Concrete and keeps millions of orders and data points flowing for Foodstuffs. It also manages business finances for Team Global Express and Green Acres, helps fill seats on the Interislander for KiwiRail and keeps Les Mills members engaged...plus so much more.

At Sandfield we take on 4 to 5 interns a year, ideally, you will be in your penultimate or last year of university studying for an Information Technology / Computer Science degree with the career aspirations to move into a software development role where you will be exposed to a wide range of technologies. However at the moment, we are not sure when we will be bringing more interns into the business, so in the meantime please feel free to register and we will contact you when we are actively looking again. We are also often looking for Graduates to join the team as well, therefore register your interest and we will be in touch.

The majority of our interns that we have had in the past have moved into permanent positions within Sandfield once their degrees have finished.

Our pitch to you

We know it’s a competitive market out there and loads of other companies are also probably trying to ‘woo’ you right now with big numbers and equally big promises.

What we can offer is something a little more special.

Our developers get to deal directly with our clients and we spend just as much time nurturing soft skills, such as communication and business acumen, as we do helping our developers be even more ‘ninja’ at their coding.

We guarantee your ‘everyday’ will be interesting, varied, challenging and fun! You’ll get to work with a range of other smart developers of all levels, who also happen to be really great people too.

They’re mountain bikers, road bikers, skiers, runners, active relaxers, video gamers, animal lovers, movie buffs, gym buffs, foodies, wine critics, bakers and musicians. They’re also family people, single people, party people, quiet people, loud people and happy people.

Our collaborative culture is at the centre of everything we do at Sandfield and it makes it a pretty special place to work. We know this because people also don’t tend to leave - i.e. the average length of service here is at least five years.

We also have a beer fridge, funky offices and ‘fun food Fridays’!

But don’t just take our word for it - here’s what our people say about working at Sandfield Working at Sandfield

As an organisation, we’re also very conscious of our environmental footprint and are currently on a journey to become carbon neutral in the very near future.

When you work for us, you’ll enjoy:

Rapid career advancement based on initiative and performance

A huge variety of work

A relaxed, supportive and social environment

An opportunity to work alongside some highly experienced developers

The freedom to employ creative thinking and really make a difference to our clients’ businesses

Being involved in everything from conceptual design to the full SDLC

A flat team structure that emanates lots of positive energy!

Flexible working policy

Soft skills training

Regular social events and ‘Fun Food Fridays’

A well stocked beer fridge (including non-alcoholic!) and fruit bowl

1Password for Families free of charge

Make your next move with us!

If you’re happy with just being a number at a big brand tech company so your Mum can brag at Bridge Club...we’re probably not for you.

But if you want to join a great team and be part of the driving force behind some innovative tech solutions for a range of top companies in this part of the world, then let’s talk!

You can check out more about Sandfield and what it’s like working for us here !
