Job Description We are a busy Indian restaurant in Petone who require a Chef who can work under pressure
\n About the role
\n Reporting to the director, you will prepare and cook a range of dishes to a consistent standard while maintaining a clean, safe and efficient kitchen. Your duties will include:
\n planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies;
\n monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation;
\n discussing food preparation issues with Directors and kitchen and waiting staff; demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures;
\n preparing and cooking food;
\n explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations;
\n select and train staff;
\n About you
\n \n A relevant qualification level 4 Certificate or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
\n Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety practices
\n Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
\n \n This is a full time role with gaurenteed minimum 30 hours of work.
