Technical Maintenance Specialist - Substations & Strategic Assets Welcomingan experienced Technical Maintenance Specialist with strong leadership skills to develop andact as a role model and mentor our Auckland team. You will be a HSQE champion and provideexceptional service to our client Vector in accordance with industry standards.
The role
Reporting to the MaintenanceDelivery Manager – Zone Substations and External customers, as the Technical Maintenance Specialist- Substations & Strategic Assets, you’ll be responsible for managing resourcesto operate efficiently and productively in delivering Vector’s Maintenance planand external contracts. You will see to the safety and compliance of office andfield staff.
Based in Auckland, youwill also:
- Proactively look at opportunities to improve our maintenance delivery;maintenance of annual Preventative, Corrective and ,Asset replacement workschedules
- Ensure all relevant asset maintenance plans are implemented , completed and kept up to date
- Monitor, analyse and reporton financial performance against targets
- Project manage small capital works
- Manage corrective defects generated from Substation and CBD Tunnel Faultcallouts
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to driveteam performance and ensure both office and field staff are getting trainingand development as needed
- Be mindful, be present, be safe for yourself, workmates, customers, thepublic, networks and the environment
- Assess situations for the safety of yourself and your team members achieving100% compliance with HSQE requirements

Aboutyou
To be successful in this role you will display strong peopleskills, customer focus and lead within a high-performing team who work both inoffice and field roles. You will be ableto manage challenging situations in a calm, mature manner and role modelsafety, quality guidelines consistentlyaccording to best practice. We'relooking for an individual who can further demonstrate the following:
-Tertiary education with an electrical power major (Preferred)
- Demonstrated operational experience preferably in the maintenance ofelectrical assets
- The ability to motivate, mentor and leaddemonstrating integrity and trust
- Ability to pro-actively promotea safety culture in line with legislation and company procedures ; deliverpositive outcomes without compromising Health, Safety, Quality and theEnvironment (HSQE)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience with using an Asset/Works management system will be an advantage; keywill be the ability and “can do” mindsetto learn systems quickly
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative workingrelations in a multi-cultural environment
- Robust numerical and analytical skills
- A strategic and critical thinker with the ability to solve problems and makedecisions
- Enjoy working in team environments, yet ableto work self-directed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Full clean Driver Licence
