We have a rewarding opportunity for a Senior Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join our team.

This role will initially be based on the Te Mārua Water Treatment Plant project in Upper Hutt, Wellington, however, you will be required to travel around the Wellington region and interisland to support our wider projects

In this role, you’ll see yourself responsible for providing a proactive HSE support service to the business, ensuring the maintenance and delivery of the Fulton Hogan HSE policy.

On a day-to-day basis you’ll engage, coach and influence people at all levels for better health and safety outcomes.

In a ddition to the above, your duties will include :

Encouraging a positive, open and honest health and safety culture

Promoting and supporting operational ownership of health, safety and environmental compliance

Driving achievement of HSE KPI’s

Assisting with reporting requirements

Supporting teams to ensure training needs are identified and met

Proactively managing HSE inspections and auditing to monitor and drive systems compliance

Leading incident investigations and recommending corrective actions

Building positive working relationships with our clients

Building positive relationships with our subcontractors through proactive engagement and management

Actively engaging with wider company HSE community and initiatives

Staying up to date with industry HSE practice and regulatory changes

We’re looking for someone with :

We’re looking for someone with solid experience in the Health, Safety and Environmental industry, preferably within a contracting environment.

You’ll be great at building effective relationships with the team and enjoy working with people to problem solve health and safety challenges with the aim of upskilling employees.

Finally, you’ll have a relevant qualification in Health and Safety, a class 1 driver’s licence, and be ready to keep building your career.
