Job Location: Picton/Marlborough Sounds/New Zealand Job Type: Permanent Work Type: Full Time Category: Transport & Logistics, Drivers & Couriers If you’re a driver looking for a new and unique challenge, come and join the Picton freight team at Bluebridge Cook Strait Ferries and play a critical role in ensuring that New Zealand’s road freight moves across Cook Strait!
You’ll be responsible for helping to unload and load drop units on and off Bluebridge’s ferries, which means you can swap long hours on the road away from friends and family with a job close to home that still utilises all your driving skills and experience.
The position currently available is a permanent between Monday and Sunday possibly day or night shifts. However, part time hours may be possible for the right applicant, which would include nights and weekends due to our 24-hour 7 day a week operation
Helping you understand the port environment is all part of the on-the-job training offered and we’ll also provide support getting your Dangerous Goods (DG) and F endorsements, if required.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has an excellent work ethic and attendance record
Is punctual, reliable, honest and positive
Works in a safe and efficient manner and will comply with company policies and procedures

Of course, there are a few technical requirements which are important to have:
A class 5 licence and a clean and safe driving record.
Experience driving B trains, Semis and Truck and Trailers
Excellent backing skills
Strong customer service and excellent communication skills
OSH Forklift certification or F endorsement and current W T R endorsements would be useful but are not critical.
