Our client is a not-for-profit Maori organisation based in Te Awakairangi, Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt area. They deliver high quality responses to family violence in our community. They are guided by kaupapa Māori values as they work to support wāhine and tamariki Māori impacted by family violence.
They are a small yet dynamic team that is genuinely committed to the wellbeing of their team members. They are passionate about the work they do in the community and strive to achieve the best outcomes for their whānau.
Mō te tūnga - About the role
They are looking for someone to join their team who is also driven to support the empowerment of wāhine and tamariki Māori impacted by family violence.
In this role you will understand and uphold the overarching vision of the organisation. You will be working with wāhine and tamariki Māori who are at high risk of family violence.
You will be required to strongly advocate for and support wāhine and tamariki Māori impacted by family violence.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge of te ao Māori and incorporation of tikanga in their practice
Experience working with tamariki and whānau is preferable
Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to crisis
Strong written and verbal communication skills, record keeping and confidentiality
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team and with external services
