We are excited about the interesting and rewarding opportunities we have in our Building Team in the upcoming year, with key roles starting in 2024. The Team works across vital areas such as, regulating compliance with the Building Code and Building Act on large array of commercial and residential projects dealing with a range of professionals within the building industry.
About the role
Join our Inspections Team and be involved in a variety of inspection work with the opportunity also to work across resolving historical building consents, investigating complaints relating to building work and all relevant administrative and legal requirements related to the building industry and relevant Acts, Regulations and Bylaws.
You'll also be responsible for
Processing regulatory consent applications and/or Undertaking building and plumbing and drainage inspections in line with the Building Act 2004 and related regulations
Service delivery, making it easy for clients to do business with us.
Prepare and collate details for prosecutions, when required.
Participate in the formulation and amendments to ISO standard procedures
About You
Naturally you'll be an expert in your field with a positive approach to assisting the public, by putting our customers first, you also know the importance of inspections and the outcomes we are looking for.
As the building industry and the law regulations are forever changing, you'll have a desire to undertake ongoing development and training within your area of expertise.
The ability to understand and interpret building plans
Knowledge of Building Act 2004, New Zealand Building Code, other related environmental legislation and standards
A qualification in building, a trade (including plumbing & drainage), architecture, building science or related area (Reg 18 qualification)
A current competency in Residential 3 and Commercial 1 or above
