\n Kāinga Ora is seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer to provide technical leadership, expert guidance, and advanced operational support across our enterprise technology landscape.
\n
\n As a trusted senior engineer, you'll provide senior operational support across our enterprise technology environment while leading complex technical initiatives, driving continuous improvement, and helping modernise our infrastructure platforms. You'll act as a key escalation point for critical issues, mentor engineers across the team, and help raise engineering standards through automation, standardisation, and best practice.

\n You’ll join a team responsible for supporting and evolving a complex enterprise environment spanning cloud, identity, collaboration, networking, security, and core infrastructure services.

\n
\nAs a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will:\n
\n \n
\n Lead the implementation, management, optimisation, and support of enterprise infrastructure and cloud platforms
\n
\n Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical incidents, problems, and service impacts
\n
\n Lead the delivery of infrastructure projects and platform improvement initiatives
\n
\n Drive continuous improvement through automation, standardisation, and modern engineering practices
\n
\n Mentor and support engineers across the team, helping build technical capability and engineering maturity
\n
\n Champion operational excellence through governance, documentation, knowledge sharing, and technical standards
\n
\n Identify opportunities to improve platform reliability, security, performance, and efficiency
\n
\n Contribute technical expertise into architecture discussions, technology roadmaps, and future platform direction
\n
\n Act as the technical owner for assigned infrastructure platforms and services.

\n We are looking for a senior engineer who combines strong operational infrastructure experience with a passion for continuous improvement and modern engineering practices. You'll be someone who takes ownership, leads by example, and looks for opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and service quality through automation and standardisation.

\nKey skills and experience\n
\n \n
\n Senior Infrastructure Expertise: Significant hands‑on experience managing enterprise ICT environments, including Microsoft Server OS, Microsoft 365, Public Cloud (Azure/AWS), Active Directory / Entra ID, Exchange Online, endpoint management technologies, enterprise security tooling, SSL certificates, and DNS/domain management
\n
\n Architecture & Solution Design: Proven ability to analyse systems, understand user requirements, and translate business needs into robust, scalable technical solutions
\n
\n Enterprise Operations: Strong understanding of operating within complex, multi‑vendor enterprise environments and supporting critical production services
\n
\n Advanced Troubleshooting: Demonstrated ability to diagnose, resolve, and prevent complex technical and performance issues across diverse infrastructure platforms
\n
\n Leadership & Influence: Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to mentor others, influence outcomes, and contribute technical expertise into planning and decision‑making forums
\n
\n Modern Engineering Practices: Experience with automation, scripting, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, platform standardisation, or similar approaches that improve reliability, consistency, and operational efficiency
\n
\n Continuous Improvement Mindset: Passion for service improvement, platform optimisation, and driving positive change through technology.
\n

\n Note: This position involves occasional work outside standard business hours and participation in an on‑call standby roster.
