The Role
As an Information Security Lead within the Technology Group, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery and adoption of Information Security initiatives and projects. Reporting directly to the Head of Information Security, and working within an agile environment, you will be responsible for scoping, planning, and leading end-to-end implementations of security controls, tools, and processes. Your role involves collaboration with internal and external teams, including LIC's service providers and vendors, to achieve effective and efficient information security solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Support and plan for Information Security initiatives, and lead end-to-end implementation.
Leadership: Provide leadership for your direct reports and lead project operations.
Risk Management and Compliance: Assess the impact on information security governance, recommending updates. Perform and register project risk assessments.
Vendor Management: Proactively manage vendor relationships including SDAs, and own change management for Information Security projects.
Strategy: Support the development of Information Security strategy and roadmaps.
Continuous Improvement: Identify improvements in security functions.
Documentation and communication: Create and maintain technical documentation.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have a solid background in information security, having implemented security controls, tools, and processes previously. You'll also demonstrate:
Experience leading projects and reviewing implementation plans and contracts.
Vendor management and engagement experience, including negotiating SDAs.
In-depth knowledge of security concepts, cyber-attacks, threat vectors, risk management, and incident management.
Working knowledge of industry security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, or NZISM.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to continuous learning and keeping up to date with industry trends.
People leadership experience is advantageous, but having the desire to lead and inspire is vital.

The role is based in our Hamilton office. We enable hybrid ways of working and would be happy to support one or more day/s per week in the office for this role, so would suit a candidate living commutable distance to Hamilton.
