Finance Accounts Clerk (Kaiawhina)

Te Rūnanga o Kirikiriroa is a kaupapa Māori organisation based on a whānau first, tikanga based, wellbeing approach. Our organisation works to a model of care centred around our pou (guiding principles) of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, arohatanga, rangatiratanga, tika and pono. We deliver 30+ health and social services across the life span (i.e., from infants to the elderly) and have a team of over 100 people working across Hamilton city and beyond.
About the Role
The role is responsible for the day-to-day administrative function and support of the of the organisation’s finances and operational tasks. Assisting with preparing the monthly accounts, end of year accounts and providing financial information as required. The Finance and Administrative Support will work collaboratively with all the Departments in a crucial financial and office administrative support role.
The role requires high integrity, an eye for detail, excellence, strong organisational abilities, and a structured approach to meet financial rhythm deadlines with accuracy in all aspects of the finance administration function.
1 x permanent, full-time, 40 hours/week
Monday-Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm
From $27.50 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience
You will be responsible for:
Supporting with financial Month End processes, reporting, and journal entries and ensuring monthly accruals are captured, where required
Daily monitoring of bank balances and credit card balances in relation to actual expense obligations
Coding and uploading expense invoices
Monitoring, coding, and weekly reporting of rental income
Reconciling creditor and cash payments in Xero and coding other income
Reconciliation of bank accounts on a daily/regular basis
Maintaining and ensuring accuracy and input of financial information Xero
Proactively working with suppliers to streamline payment processes
Reviewing Actual Expenses against the Budget for critical items and activities throughout the year
Provide training to employees on internal finance processes/finance apps, both existing and new employees
Assist in preparing information required for the Annual Audit
Ensure all cash is banked when applicable
Meet all deadlines of the daily/weekly/monthly, and annual finance functions
Support with payroll duties
Qualifications and Experience:
Strong administration skills with an eye for detail
Very organized and structured
Strong understanding of Xero Accounting software
Good general IT skills with an understanding of systems a working knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office 365
Bookkeeping or Finance Administration experience
Experience in the not-for-profit sector is an advantage but not required
Payroll experience beneficial but not essential
