Job Description We are a cafe in Timaru, Canterbury looking for 2 x Cooks to join our team. Applicants must be skilled, hardworking, and able to work in a busy, high-pressure environment.

\n Pay: $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience

Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week

Position: Full-time, rostered work

Job Description \n \n Check food ingredients and supplies to ensure quality.

\n Prepare and cook food according to recipes and standards.

\n Operate and regulate ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.

\n Season, portion, plate, and garnish dishes with sauces and gravies.

\n Store food safely in temperature-controlled facilities.

\n Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements.

\n Maintain the distinctive smoky Texan flavour and style of our dishes.

\n Assist the Head Chef with menu planning and food preparation.

\n Qualifications & Experience \n \n Minimum 1 year of relevant experience OR a Level 4 or higher qualification in cookery, hotel management, or a related field.

\n Familiarity with café-style cuisines and cooking techniques.

\n Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-pressure kitchen.

\n Strong teamwork and communication skills.

\n Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

\n Training will be provided to successful applicants.
